Took this yesterday looking up our hotel. We are on the 23rd floor.
We woke up to this looking out of our lounge. A perfect clear crisp morning awaits us. We both slept well so all set today walking by 8.30am.
Our first stop was the information centre to sort out our plan of attack for the day. More Melbourne trams. They are constantly up and down the streets all the time. They are free to travel on within the city circle. So handy to hop on if the walking gets too much.
The old well known train station in Melbourne.
Front entrance to St Paul’s Cathedral. Unfortunately the sun was coming in on the other side making the above very dark.
Side entrance to the Cathedrol.
Wow amazing how they built these beautiful places so long ago. The Cathedral was designed in 1880-1891 and was completed in 1926
We were booked in for a Ferry trip so went for a walk along the Yarra River. This old Princess bridge was built in 1888. At present it is having maintenance done. Walking along the Yarra River looking back over to CBD.
Still walking down further. Look at the reflections such a perfect day.
We were walking over the below bridge looking down over a Restaurant built in the middle of the river under the bridge.
Just walked over the Evan Walker foot bridge
Further down river, the tallest building is the Skydeck. We will do that later.
Sky deck building 89 floors viewing deck I think it takes 33 seconds to get to the top. Imagine PT going up that.
Walking along the riverbank and this bar was set up on a barge note it even has a swimming pool and deck chairs at the back to sun bathe.
Still walking along the riverbank bank.
Here comes our boat which will take us for a river cruise for one hour down river from the CBD. The boats are low to go under some fairly
Some very flash pleasure boats moored in front of some flash apartments.
Looking out the back of the boat up river back at the CBD
We have had a great day walking and cruising around Melbourne.
Later : We have just come home from a night out for dinner which I will tell you about tomorrow.
