We left Uralla this morning to drive the Waterfall Way highway known for its waterfalls. It starts at Armidale in the centre of New England Tablelands. Passing along approx 290kms through rainforests, river valleys, waterfalls, and lookouts .Travelling through the open plains of New England National Park and Dorrigo National Park. Then back down to the coastal beaches coming out near Coffs Harbour. We have stopped at Dorrigo town about 68kms inland from Coffs Harbour. The weather wasn’t looking too good this morning as we got onto the Waterfall Way highway. Our first stop was going to be Metz Gorge Lookout, but it proved to be too far off the highway on metal roads. We just about got to the end and it started getting a bit muddy so turned round. We probably shouldn’t have even tried. Next stop was Wollomombi Falls this included Edgar’s Lookout and Eagles Lookout. Good sealed road only a couple of kms off the highway. At this stage the sun was trying to come out. This area is one of the most popular along with our next stop Ebor Falls equally as popular. These two main Waterfalls both have sealed access. We wanted to go out to the Cathedral Rock Lookout, and Point Lookout but unfortunately couldn’t as the unsealed roads were too long. After Ebor Falls we drove 46kms to Dorrigo now dropped down 730m above sea level. We are stopping for two nights staying at the Ridgetop Hideaway, 5kms out of town. On our way we came through heavy rain as we were going over the hills but then the sun came out approaching Dorrigo so we went straight to see the DANGAR Falls as PT thinks the weather could be wet tomorrow. Hope not as we have places to see in this area.

Uralla, to Dorrigo, 12th May 2025
WOLLOMOBI FALLS
There are actually two falls here, the main Falls on the left and another small one more to the right. The Wollomombi Falls, the biggest one is a lot bigger than it looks as we are viewing it from a long distance. We could have gone for a long walk right round to get closer but decided not to do that one. The Falls height is 220m we were standing on one of these viewing platforms which are built straight out over the street edge of the escarpments. PT struggles with these but he just stands back a bit.
EAGELS LOOKOUT
From the main falls we walked along the track about 800m to Eagles lookout.
EDGARS LOOKOUT
These are the platforms to walk out on to make it feel like you are very high, which of cause we were.
Views from the above platform
UPPER EBOR FALLS
Another very popular Falls to visit. The waterfall has two viewing areas, the upper EBOR Falls and the lower EBOR Falls. The above and below are the upper Falls
We have walked further along the pathway to look back to the falls. Top right shows how the platforms hangover the edge.
Video of the EBOR Upper Falls.
LOWER EBOR FASLS
Two falls so close to each other.
We looked over to the Lower Falls from this platform.
Beautiful views from the above platform looking the other way across the hills.
DANGAR FALLS
As it stopped raining when we arrived at Dorrigo we thought that we had better view these falls as tomorrows weather forecast is for rain 😢
The Dangar Falls tumble 30m to a Swimming hole which is popular on a warm day. They are just a couple of Kms north of Town. There is a walking track down to the bottom of the falls but we had done enough today, just wanted to get to our accommodation.
DANGAR FALLS in Dorrigo.
