Today we finished off all the lookouts we wanted to see.
Our Cabin for the three nights in Katoomba, Blue mountains. A little smaller but still two bedrooms. Probably needs a refresh inside but not too bad.
GORDONS FALLS LOOKOUT
Started off just before 9.00am but more overcast, hence the photos at Gordon Falls Lookout are a bit dull. But it did brighten up at our next stop. I think we just left too early probably still a bit of morning mist around. Above looking to the right of the Jamison valley.
Looking down through the valley.

Looking Left above and below along the escarpments is
Now swinging further left, looking down, where there is a trickle of a waterfall. A long way down,
LEURA
Just a few km from Katoomba is this little town called LEURA described as the prettiest town in the Blue Mountains. Boosting beautiful gardens, charming shops and historic homes.
Amazing views from here.
Looking across the valley.
Zoomed in as it looked like farmland in the distance, in the middle of these rugged mountains.
We could have driven along this metal road along the cliff tops. We would have got some amazing views, we were told. But couldn’t persuade PT. He didn’t want to risk the car not knowing the condition of the road. He is very cautious of it being a rental. In places it was quite near the cliff. In the first Boars Head photo you can just see the metal road running along the top of the cliff.
We are now nearly back to our first day visit at Echo Point where the Three Sisters are. Completing a good circuit of walks and lookouts in our three nights here. The above escarpment is what we looked over to at Echo Point on our arrival in Katoomba last Sunday.
Also looking over to the Three Sisters from a distance.
This shows how close we were getting to Echo Point today when we were at Eagle Hawk lookout. Three Sisters on the left and the escarpments on the right. Similar view from Echos point but much further away.
Our next stop at Scenic World. Not to do any rides just to have lunch and a look around.
The first day we were looking up at the Scenic Skyway.
Today we are looking down over it. It also has a glass floor, and takes you between cliff tops above the Jamison Valley at 270 metres.
Now the Scenic Railway at a 52 degrees incline they say it’s the steepest passenger train in the world. It very quickly arrives down into the valley in amongst all the trees which we have been looking down over in most of my photos. And yes I did this one couldn’t get PT to join me. It was a lot tamer than I thought it would be. I thought that it would go down very fast but it was quite slow at 14km per hour and just very short distance. Took a few photos and we were there,
Looking through the train
Everyone getting out at the bottom. It takes 84 passengers at once.
Looking down over the train at the bottom station.
It’s now leaving back to top station.
At the bottom had a lovely walk along this boardwalk amongst the gum trees etc. 300m long.
A miners horse pulling the coal train
Miners cave
Looking up to the sky through the trees so quiet and peaceful. I am now walking along to catch the Scenic Cableway that also carries 84 people to take me back up to the top station.
Cableway just arriving from top station.
On the way back to the top station.
This is the Scenic Cableway that took me back up.
We have now completed our time up in the Blue Mountains. What an amazing area, loved it. Back to our last night here in Katoomba. We are heading further inland tomorrow for one night at Bathurst. PT had to get his circuit in on the race circuit. Hope he doesn’t spin out. We will be staying at the Ridges Hotel up there. And amazingly it’s cheaper than the cabins for the night at this time of year but very expensive on racing venues. We plan to shout ourselves dinner so a bit of luxury after cooking our meals every night. 🤗
